The South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) Division - which is referred to as the DStv Premiership for sponsorship reasons is a South African professional football league and the highest division of South African football league system.

As the division is the top level of association football in South Africa, it is often reffered to as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) - which is the name of the league's administrator.

Since it's inception in 1996, the Premier Division has been sponsored. The sponsor has been able to determine the league's sponsorship name. The list below details who the sponsors have been and what they called the competition :

• 1996 - 2007 : Castle Lager ( Castle Premiership).

• 2007 - 2020 : Absa (Absa Premiership).

• 2020 - Present : DStv ( DStv Premiership).

All the 16 clubs have been receiving their money without a fail during the country's lockdown but that could've changed if the season didn't resume.

All the 16 Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams, receive R2.5 million every month and the suspension of the league season had hit the majority of them hard in the pocket.
